| Rinpoche's first return to one of his monasteries - Zarthu Monastery, since leaving for Lhasa from here at the age of 17. The historical Zarthu was next to its present site and was completely destroyed in the 1960's. When it was given permission to be rebuilt in the 1980's as religious regulations relaxed, the old site was occupied and the monks chose the site of the house where Rinpoche was born to build the new monastery.The exact spot where Rinpoche was born is almost exactly where Rinpoche has set his foot on in this photo. |
